Weiyi joined this group in 2005 after receiving a B.S. degree in Physics from Peking University in Beijing, China. He also received a M.S. degree in 2008 from Department of Nuclear Engineering and Radiological Sciences at University of Michigan.

He was working towards my doctoral degree on Gammy-ray image reconstruction techniques using 3D-position-sensitive room-temperature CZT detector arrays. His research included energy-imaging integrated system modeling for events with any number of interactions for Compton camera, the source/shielding characterization from the imaging results, Compton imaging with moving sources and 3D imaging with detector sensor network.
