Hao’s primary research is involved with a digital ASIC readout system. With the powerful digital ASIC, the waveforms can be obtained directly from the preamplifier for each incident radiation events. Compared to waveforms from an analog ASIC, these waveforms from digital ASIC systems can provide more information, which is very critical for energy reconstruction and event classification. Moreover, the subpixel position can break the limit of the pixel size, which can also be derived from the waveforms. The subpixel information can improve the angular resolution of Compton imaging reconstruction.
